Lagoa do Vento — Beneath the Waterfall
Rabaçal / Calheta

Public excerpts
Public excerpt
This photograph was created during a visit to Lagoa do Vento in March 2011. Its interest lies not only in the lagoon itself, but in the discovery of a different viewpoint beneath the waterfall.
A natural rock opening transforms the landscape into a framed composition, bringing together water, shadow, depth and the surrounding mountains.
The image belongs to the Workspace Invaders approach because it does not simply identify a famous place. It searches for a more personal position within that place. The visitor is invited to slow down, observe the rock, the water, the light and the way the landscape appears through the opening.

- Best noteChoose a stable, dry day with soft or overcast light. Morning and afternoon can offer a better balance between the dark rock foreground and the brighter lagoon and valley. Allow extra time to observe the water, test the natural frame and refine the composition. Avoid heavy rain, strong water flow and unstable conditions.
