The objective of the Balancal logo is to communicate the brand’s qualities clearly and effectively. The image was created to thrive, with a strong and skillful statement, which is born of the new modern and is easily recognizable by people of all ages and cultural groups. The logo should be memorable and easy to describe, working across different platforms, formats, and sizes.

From the beginning, the image application was carefully defined to prepare the tasks for the different stages of the process. The first phase of the project is the “brief”, which summarizes the strategic guidelines for the evolution of the proposal.

The creative process began with the construction of a map of words associated with the word Balancal, which were used in the first drafts to seek interpretation through the association. The experimentation of writing the word, drawing letters and translating the shapes, reproduces other new ideas, trying to reach the final solution of identity.

The logo is the brand’s visual identity, made up of other images and letters that identify, represent and symbolize it. Its form is unique and unrepeatable, maintaining its exclusivity of representation and valuable potential to be symbolized or to be the reference of various identities. Its form arises from the articulation and association of words.

In symbolism, the Balancal logo has an asymmetry due to the difference or even understanding of the similarity. The cantilever (seed) shape at the top of the logo is projected onto a line of a plane, fixing the element in space and making it resistant to the support’s orientations. The prismatic shapes are proportional, following a harmonic principle of composition. Its edges are directed towards the middles, thirds, fourths, fifths, etc., of the rectangle in which the total shape is contained.

The Balancal logo will be applied to spirits labels, differentiated by the colors that represent each product. The Balancal brand belongs to Vinha Alta, an independent drinks producer from Madeira Island that seeks to bring different drinks made from locally grown products supplied directly by friendly farmers. Vinha Alta purchases from selected producers who share the vision of carefully crafted drinks.
